Sensuous Pleasures of the World

Human beings have five physical senses and memory, and imagination. Stimulating all of these is impossible to avoid though some have tried. Most of us are stimulated positively by the sense of taste, smell, the feel of soft fur, the human body and more. When we 'get spiritual' do we rise above the senses, the memory, the mind?  Well I certainly have not. Nor am I renouncing sensuality, at least not as yet. But here are the real questions:

"Are my sensuous pleasures driving my being? Do they rule? Are they my God?"

We are given human instincts for a purpose. The instinct for survival, security, community, sex, companionship, relationships.  And we are given the senses to determine the condition of the physical world around us - to determine if it is beneficial or harmful, safe or dangerous. And these senses are means by which we can give to others and be of benefit to us and our fellows.

The other day I cooked a delicious dinner for my family.  I could not have done that without my senses, memory and imagination in tact. How else could I know how cook it, or even know that it was delicious.  And if they had no senses, how could they appreciate it?

Without the senses and physiology of the body, how could we fall in love, develop relationships and have children and share more with the world to continue mankind? It is when our senses far exceed their intended purpose that we run into problems. When love becomes lust, when hunger becomes gluttony, when survival becomes greed.

Now we could take the course of action that involves using our mind and willpower to curb these extremes, and this may give some temporary relief.  One instinct may curb another like the instinct for survival curbing greed so that we do not steal and end up in prison.

I submit that these are not totally free solutions. That there is a better way, the infinite way.

When I turn my mind to thoughts of the infinite vastness of Creation, when I meditate and practice the presence of an infinite power that runs all things, I begin to discover there is a Power running this Universe and my life that takes care of everything always and at once. In so doing, worldly pleasures, instincts, the senses are kept in balance. Not by me, but by the All powerful Love of all creation.

If this seems high-handed or religious it is not.  It requires no religion or belief system on my part. It only requires looking inside and seeking the consciousness of a Higher Power that is truly taking care of me and all people and all systems of the world with love.

This takes care of my most important need, to feel safe. And when I am safe I have no worries and all my needs and wants are over because they are taken care of in the most beneficial way possible.

This is the way of love. True Love. Permanent love.

What Do We focus our Minds on Then?

Our minds are busy thinking, always thinking. Are we aware of what we are thinking? Do we think our thoughts have the power to make or break anyone, anything, ourselves? Few would argue that thoughts often result in actions. Many are unaware of how this works. Infinite Soul Wisdom is not concerned with how the mind works, or how thought controls actions.  Infinte Soul Wisdom is concerned only with the Infinite, the power of the Universe and we are convinced this power does not come from the mind.

Mind is defined as what we humanly can think and conceive.  We can think of good and manifest it. We can think of evil and manifest it.  Infinite Soul Wisdom suggests we tap into a source of power that is all good at all times, a power that cannot be used for anything evil.  In fact, we believe it is a power that is ever-present, always available and provides everything we could possibly want or need for any good work.

Where do we find this power if not in the mind?  We claim it is found inside self and we must look inside to see.  How do we look if not with the mind?  We are so wrapped up in mind that we cannot conceive of anything else we could use to look, al least to look inside. (Obviously we have the senses to use to look on the outside such as our eyes and ears.)

Infinite Soul Wisdom has discovered something else we can use to look inside and find the Infinite Power of the Universe and tap into it for all our resources.  And we found anyone can discover it, it is so simple.

But it is not easy.

To discover that something else to look with besides the mind, we must put the mind aside.  This begins with being willing to set aside all of our thinking, at least temporarily. This thinking includes our opinions, judgements, catagorizations, stereotypes, resentments, hurt feelings, and all the things we 'know' as being right where others are wrong.

This is why it is not easy.  It means being open-minded and willing to change, to admit there is much we do not know, and, and this is the big one, IT MEANS TO GET HONEST WITH OURSELVES.

Bottom line:  we must get to humility in order to discover what we have inside that we can 'look' with to find the ulitmate power inside. And our human ego does not like this prospect.  Most of you will not like it either at one level or another.  Either you will brand this talk as foolishness, boring or just plain stupid.

But even that cannot stop you from discovering the Power within. The Power that provides all resources and never leaves you wanting.  The Power that brings joy, harmony and love to you and all the lives you touch who are also willing to change.

All you need do is ask yourself one simple question:  Am I willing to change?

If the answer is even the tiniest little yes, you are on the road, a road you can travel at the end of which are rewards beyond anything you can imagine at this moment.  And we are not talking about the afterlife here.  The rewards are available here and now, in this moment the to extent that we are willing to let go of the ego and all of its trappings and, in humilty say, I don't know.

‎"I want to figure out"...five words that embody a conceptual way of living that can keep us in illusion. The Truth of being is that all is provided. Our needs are known even before we know them. This leaves nothing to want. With 'wants' null and void we move to "figure out". THe Truth of being clearly reveals all is already 'figured out. This tells us we are not required to figure anything out. All we need do is connect to the Infinite Wisdom of the Truth of God where all is already known and, seemingly like magic to the unrehearsed, what we need to know is revealed to us for the moment and situation with which we are presently dealing.

Keep your mind stayed on God, not on wants, needs or trying to figure anything out. A mind stayed on God is connected to all things, all knowledge where all that is known and needed is already provided. With this focus, we shall then easily act in the reality of purposeful living rather than executing empty actions based on needs, wants or lack of knowledge.

We are praying in connection to the one power, the one God, the only power of the universe and in our lives. The Christ that lives in all and is all. There is nothing to ask for. God does not withhold. We simply pray and connect and know and trust in God. This we do in the silence of meditation, quieting the mind and body and allowing the Godness that we are made of come forth and shine.

 

We hope we pray with a pure heart in the knowledge of Christ. In Christ there is no sickness, no harm, no death, no beginning, no end. Let us realize there is nothing but the Christ and God's goodness everywhere and dispel all illusion of sickness and death from our minds and live the Mind of Christ.GOD IS SOUL AND GOD IS ETERNAL AND EVERLASTING. THEREFORE, SOUL IS ETERNAL AND EVERLASTING. In this, no harm can come to any of us. Do not despair at one seemingly out of place piece in the puzzle of life. Our perception is limited. Feel the feelings, but rest in the assuredness that in this present moment is eterity and all of eternal life. The more quiet time we take to rest in this moment, the more connected we are and the more 'miracles' we notice around us. The precious present, the Here and Now, is a living breathing explosive incredible miracle. This is a miracle we can live, so, LIVE IT NOW!

False Perceptions

Have your ever thought about your ability to think falsehoods? Like, I believe a giant green hairy dragon with ten tentacles is outside my door. Of course, most of us would not believe there is or even could be such a thing outside our doors. Yet we can construct anything our imaginations can contrive. And we all do, on a daily basis. All of us are constructing falsehoods every day!

"Not me!" you say. "I am not a liar,"  or "I am a realist." Well let's think it through a little further. What is your perception of your fellow man? Pick someone who really disgusts you or at least mildly annoys you and analyze your perception of this person. Is she a perfectly created child of the universe, beautifully and wonderfully made? Is he made of the same spirit of good that made you? Anyone being honest enough with themselves can admit they have had far from angelic thoughts about what a person is made of when that person annoys or disgusts. And who wouldn't be quick to admit such a person is a devil of some sort?

Maybe at that moment of disgust, she appears to be made of some sort of garbage not suitable for mankind. And now we get to the point. "He appears to be made of some sort of garbage..." Appears to whom? To you of course and anyone else who would agree with you. Is not this appearance simply a false thought, for does it not contradict the truth that one human being is made from the same spirit as another, even if they don't always act that way? You need not accept this philosophy. But you can investigate its validity by applying the following suggestion.

 The suggestion is this: Try a different perception next time you entertain a thought about someone that they are anything less than perfect. Forget about the person for a moment and address only the thought you have about the person. Acknowledge that your opinion at the moment is your perception. Then, treat it as a false perception, like the giant green hairy dragon. Take this treatment more than once. Instead of focusing on the person who annoys, treat the thought about that person as a false perception. False perceptions, of course, are false. They have no substance in reality. Allow the perception to disappear. It will, with practice, disappear.

Then note the results of applying this treatment to yourself. You may find it has some effect, maybe more effect than going over and over in your mind what the annoying person has done or is continuing to do. Perhaps that person changes, or you change. Or maybe, just maybe, the whole darn problem disappears.

Perhaps into the nothingness from which it came!
